Zhongshan Park in Shenzhen
Located in the west of Shenzhen city, the Zhongshan Park is the oldest park in Shenzhen. It was built in 1925 and named after Sun Yat-sen, the man considered by many to be the “Father of modern China”. Zhongshan Park covers an area about 490,000 square meters. It features a huge sculpture of Sun Yat-Sen at the park’s main entrance, the west gate on the side of Shennan Main Avenue. Also in the hero-gathering lawn, you can find sculptures of several local famous people in the history. It has another gate in the east along side the Nanshan Main Avenue. In Zhongshan Park, you can see a lot of green, trees, lawns, and lots of small walking paths. There are two lakes with many fishes. There is a fishing area too. Many people play badminton, fly kites in the park. Close to the east gate of Zhongshan Park, you can find a nice place for kids and teenagers to play, spinning rides, dragon coaster, Tagada ride, etc. Tickets are not expensive.
The famous Xin’an ancient town is just nearby, it’s worth a visit in combination.
