Dongguan is well known as the Sin City in China. In the very early 2014, just after the Chinese New Year festival, police have launched a crackdown on the sex trade in Dongguan, following a state TV report on prostitution in the Dongguan city.
A 6,000-strong force reportedly raided 12 hotels and entertainment venues leading to 67 arrests — 90-odd cops for each of the alleged perpetrators. The CCTV report was widely watched across China and sparked extensive comment on social media.
People talk the event everywhere. A lot if Chinese are concerned about the future of Dongguan sex industry and the future of these girls and prostitutes in Dongguan. We are not sure if sex industry can be legalized in China or specific areas or cities. But we do not like the way our national TV and press media trade the prostitutes. At least we think they deserve more care, respect and protection.
