After three years in China playing for the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association), Marbury has led the Beijing Ducks to the CBA championship.  Stephon Marbury is a champion of Beijing, a hero in China. From the NBA to CBA with plenty of controversy along the way, it was lovely to see Marbury’s name being mentioned in the news both domestic and overseas, because of his big success.

Marbury China CBA 2012

Yang Lan has just interviewed Marbury couple of days ago and asked if he is happy or not in China as the salary here in China is much less than in NBA in USA. Marbury is a MVP in NBA, his annual income in the US was as high as 20 million US dollars. Here Marbury’s annual wage in China is about 2 million US dollars. But here in China, Marbury found something much more valuable than money. He has found inner peace. “I look at myself as a child growing in China, and my life here I think being a part of the culture has definitely allowed me to feel something totally different,” he says. “Some dreams do come true.”

Stephon Marbury reborn in the place where he called home – China.

Also the Beijing Youth Daily said that Allen Iverson, another NBA’s MVP, also Stephon Marbury’s good friend, have a “strong desire” to play in the CBA. Thanks to the MBA players in China, you have made the CBA more fan.
