We were having difficult time seating a baby at restaurants in Nanshan this holiday. We went out many times to restuarants at Nanshan this new year’s holiday. We went go with a baby who is 11 months old, but found it is difficult to find a seat for a baby at the table.
We checked several restaurants at Coastal City in Nanshan, none of them have a baby seat. We finally suceeded to find a restaurant at the second floor of the Coastal City Shenzhen, named Amazon Brazilian B.B.Q. It is not a new restaurant to us, but we were just not aware of the baby seat issue the last time. Double confirmed with the waitresses at Amazon Brazilian BBQ(buffet), they did have a baby seat, however they do not have any seats available in the room. We had to sit outside. It was a cloudy day that day. It became chilly at Winter afternoon in Shenzhen. We requested the waiteress to arrange us a table in the room as soon as any seats available, as we have a baby with us, we were afraid he could get cold if we sit outside the restaurant for long. But apparently our request had been ignored. From went to Amazon Brazilian Buffet a bit late, by the time we left the restaurant, it was about 2:30 PM, unfortunately no one arranged us a table in the room.
Another thing that was very impressive at Amazon Buffet at Coastal City Nanshan was that, the waitress at the restaurant had been very rude. I tried to ask a simple question in a polite manner, she said in a command tone impatiently, “Wait a second!” and she did not come back. When I was trying to get a bowl of soup, a waitress this time became very concerned, came up and said, “Do not mess around!”. And I carefully looked around, worrying I might did something wrong, but really had no clue of what I had been messed up by myself. There was a drop of soup close to the plate where big spoons placed. The waitress seems blamed me for that but it was there before. I had no idea how these waitress think of their customers in the Amazon Brazilian BBQ(buffet) at Coastal City of Nanshan.
One more thing, they would ask if you need an invoice or not, you will be charged a bit higher if an invoice required. Put the invoice thing aside, 68 RMB for a lunch buffet with few selection, bad food(meat, vegetables and beverage), terrible service is definitely a BAD deal.
The next two days at the new year’s holiday, we went to other restaurants. We found there are three nice restaurants at Coastal City area that have both baby seats and good service.
One of them is an Italian cuisine restaurant named Saizeriya-Coastal City Branch. It is close to Jusco, Coastal City, Nanshan. You can have nice Italian Cuisine with good price and most important of all, service is much better than the Amazon Brazilian Buffet.
The second one is Kongfu Restaurant, the Chinese fast foods chain with most restaurants and biggest size. The Kungfu Catering is one of the most popular chinese local restaurants in big cities such as Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shenyang, Wuhan, etc. It was established in 1994, currently possesses over 300 restaurants. You do not really need to ask for a baby seat there, the waitress will ask if you would like a high chair for you baby or not as soon as you go inside.
Garwon is another Chinese fast foods chain with lots of restaurants in big cities around China. Carwon is a local enterprise based in Shenzhen, it was established in 1997 and now they have about 100 restaurants in China mainland. At Garwon, you can have quality food and service, they have wooden high chairs where you can seat your baby at the restaurant. If you take the baby’s carseat carrier inside Garwon, you can leave the baby in that and sit the carseat in the booth. If your baby is old enough to sit by itself, you can get him/her out of the infant carseat or stroller, find a booth seat at Garwon or ask for help from the waitress there. They are willing to offer help to locate you and your baby somewhere not too busy, either big booth, quiet corner, etc.
