I have just upgraded to the latest Firefox 8.0.1 this afternoon. However found there are dotted border from link in Firefox, can’t replicate the issue on other browsers like IE, Chrome, etc. See bellow figure:

Remove Firefox dotted borders around links

Tried other sites and got the same problem on several different sites as well. Many of these links are not active links on focus, tried googling, but most of the tips and tricks online describe how to modify the CSS of page code to change the style of active links, until I found this one which really did the trick:

Q:Firefox highlights all links in pink with dotted borders, how do I make it stop doing this?

Firefox highlights all links on web pages in pink with a dotted border. Sometimes the links are not highlighted when I first visit a new site, but after a few clicks then Firefox highlights all of them everywhere and it often makes the navigation difficult to read with all the pink boxes everywhere. How can I make Firefox stop doing this?

A: If the background of links is red then that is probably caused by an extension like SEO or SearchStatus that has the option set to highlight noFollow links.

You can check the options of such an extension.
You can click the icon on the Status bar to open the SearchStatus options and un-tick “Highlight NoFollow Links”

Followed the above tips to disable the add-on SearchStatus, the Firefox dotted borders around active links disappeared. Here is the easy steps to remove dotted borders from links in firefox which caused by the addon.

Go Tools >> Add-ons>>Extensions, locate the add-on ‘ SearchStatus ‘ on the right, click ‘Disable’ button and restart Firefox.
