A young man passed the imperial exam and got a favorable position. He went to express his gratitude and say good bye to his master as well.
“Young man, it is not easy to make a successful political career. You must be very careful.” said his master.
Young man replied, “Do not worry, master. I have brought with me a hundred honeyed phrases that can help.”
“Be a gentleman, not to stoop to flattery.” his master showed disapproving idea.
The young man looked helpless, “Unfortunately most people like that, except few real gentlemen like you, my master.”
“It is true.” nodded his master.
The young man said goodbye to his master and left. He told his companion that he had only ninety nine honeyed phrase left.
